I grew up in a close-knit family in Willowdale, Ontario (North Toronto). As a child I would organize and rearrange my bedroom often. I loved to create new homes for my belongings and make it feel more cozy. In the summers I spent it camping in the Kawarthas. The freedom of the outdoors was such a huge contrast from the city and the summer days seemed endless. I have fond memories of daylong adventures with friends, exploring, swimming, building forts, rafts and of course – catching frogs. I still head up there every summer to enjoy everything the area has to offer.
Once I started my business, as an organizer, I moved to Barrie to be closer to family and quickly grew to love the smaller city feel. It’s on the lake, easy to get out into nature, yet still close enough to Toronto to take in the amenities.
Spending quality time with family and friends is important to me. But in my downtime I like to get creative and make a variety of crafts. From wind chimes and frames, to jewelry, cards and journals. It brings me pleasure to layout the plan and see it come together so nicely. Of course, I spend lots of time giving love and attention to my fur babies, Katie and Lily.
Before launching Serenity Organizing Solutions, I worked for 25 years in social services, where I honed my skills as a good listener, being open and non-judgmental and provide supportive counselling. It’s helped me understand the unique needs of those dealing with depression, anxiety, and emotional attachment.
But for ages I dreamed of starting my own business. With my natural ability to organize and love of helping others, I knew it was the perfect business for me. If I had known the positive impact I’d have on so many lives—I would have launched my business much sooner.
As the owner of Serenity Organizing Solutions, I work from a place of integrity, compassion and trust. I believe everyone deserves a serene place, spirit, and mind – customized to their needs. And I’ll work hard to make that happen for you.
